The first time I remember holding a camera, I was 10. My grandpa had gifted me his old film point and shoot before a family trip and I remember the feeling as I lifted the view finder to my eye and peered through for the first time. Suddenly, the world was quiet, it looked more vibrant, more interesting, somehow sharper through that lens and I quickly fell in love with how it allowed me to express my big emotions; how it gave me an avenue to show people I loved them by capturing the joy and energy they emitted without ever having to say a word. I started carrying my camera with me everywhere - I was too in love with the the moments I’d notice, and how the world seemed to slow when it was by my side, to ever leave it behind.
I didnt always think i'd become a photographer professionally - to be very frank, I didn't think I knew how. I had never thought of owning my own business and although it was a massive passion of mine, turning photography into my job seemed out of reach. It wasn't until I got laid off of my marketing job in 2016 that I was really pushed to think seriously about it. And sure enough, slowly but surely I made it happen.
Being the forever romantic, I fell into weddings pretty immediately. I love, love and human connection and weddings allowed for the very type of imagery I fell in love with all those years ago holding my grandpa's camera - organic, raw, timeless, full of emotion, love, and joy. The fact that I get to make art out of your love is amazing to me. I know that these moments are precious and my goal is to give you a flawless experience from start to finish - an experience that is tailored to you and your story.
Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with other forms of photography. I love a beautifully curated space, highlighting other small businesses' hard work and efforts and hyping up other female entrepreneurs through branding photography.
Whatever your needs, I am committed to YOU and bringing your most authentic, truest self to life.

xx,

small moments that span generations

These are my grandparents, Jack and Mary Jane Van Amringe. I found this photo in their house years ago and loved it so much, it now sits framed on my dresser in my bedroom. I believe it was taken during their wedding weekend and it’s everything I want my photography to be - genuine, organic, spontaneous - something that will be framed in a grandchild’s house 50 plus years from now. I love that she looks so genuinely happy - he has a gentle contentment in his eyes that I adore. This is what it’s about. Yes we love aesthetics, and beautiful photos to post on social media and maybe get featured in fancy publications, but photos that stand the test of time - that is priceless. It’s what I want for myself and it’s what I want for you too - so years from now, your photos might be framed in a relative’s home, not because they are aesthetically pleasing or won any accolades but because it reminds them of who they are and where they come from. Imagery you can feel.
