Kelsey + Chris | Seattle Engagement Session | Kate Van Amringe Photography
My favorite thing about engagement sessions, and why I honestly think they are a must do, is that its a chance to hang out with my couples before their big day! Day of, Im going to be hanging out with you pretty much all day, so it's helpful if we've already broken the barrier of not really knowing each other and ideally by the time your big day comes we're more friends than client + vendor. The word vendor has such a stale feel to me and I would hate to think thats what any of my couples thought of me. You'd much rather have a friend photograph you than a stranger right?! Yes, me too. Enter engagement sessions. ;)
All of this brings me to these cute people!! Kelsey and Chris were such fun to hang out with - they have such a sweet, playful demeanor with each other which made my job easy peasy. We had originally planned to head to Cle Elum, where they got engaged, but Seattle's winter had other plans. As soon as we found out the pass was a mess, we quickly switched gears and developed a new plan - keep driving and pull off when they snow gets good. We lucked out BIG TIME. The pass closed and we were the lucky ducks who happened to get off at the last exit before the standstill began. It was perfect! I can't actually imagine a better snow location. There were little woods and a pretty little snow field. There were tons of families sledding too but you would never know! We even had some pretty snowfall and they were troopers in the freezing cold.
I am so excited to be a part of their wedding this summer!
